Town Annapolis Walking Tour

Morning Tour: Home School Day at the State Capitol
(9 am to 11:30 am).
The annual MACHE Homeschool Day at the Capital is a great
opportunity for homeschooling students to get an up close and
personal look at the American political process. Our tour starts at
the Joint Hearing Room in the Legislative Services Bldg. The day
will include a free guided tour of the State House, observing the
senate and house activities from the balcony, sitting in on
committee hearings, participating in an orientation and special
presentation on how a bill becomes a law by the Legislative Services
Office and an opportunity to hear personally from some supportive
Cost: There is NO COST for this
event but pre-registration is essential. Families can register by
filling out the attached form and mailing it in as quickly as
possible. Space is limited and registrations will be taken on a
first-come first-served basis. Confirmations will be emailed to all
who sign up by March 7th or as soon as spaces fill.
Afternoon Optional Tour: "Colonial Life" Walking Tour of
Annapolis (12:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.)
Extend your day in Annapolis by participating in the “Colonial Life”
Tour of Old Town Annapolis. This two-hour walking tour led by
costumed guides will include visits to buildings and areas
significant to local and Maryland history like the U.S. Naval
Academy, the crypt of John Paul Jones and St. John’s College. We
will be scheduling groups of approximately 20 starting at 12:30,
meeting at Lawyers Mall (in front of the State Capital Building).
Cost: MACHE will subsidize the tour tickets for
member families (members pay only ˝ ticket cost). Tickets for the
walking tour are approximately $11.00 per student (5 yrs. old and
up) and $13.00 per adult (for non-MACHE members) OR only $5.50 per
student (5 yrs. old and up) and $6.50 per adult (for MACHE member
families). Use the attached form to register and mail it in with
your check. Details will be emailed to all who sign up by March 7th or as soon as spaces fill.
