SCHEDULE: The MACHE Homeschool Day at the Capital & Old Annapolis Walking Tour

LOCATION: Starting at the Joint Hearing Room in the Legislative Services Bldg. (9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.).

The MACHE Homeschool Day at the Capital is a great opportunity for home schooling students to get an up close and personal look at the American political process. The day will include a free guided tour of the State House, observing the senate and house activities from the balcony, sitting in on committee hearings, participating in an orientation and special presentation on how a bill becomes a law by the Legislative Services Office and an opportunity to hear personally from some supportive legislators.

COST: The Home School Day at the Capital is FREE and MACHE members who would like to participate in the Old Annapolis Walking Tour receive a half price discount on the cost of the walking tour. See below. 

"Colonial Life" Walking Tour of Annapolis (12:30 p.m.)

Extend your day in Annapolis by participating in the "Colonial Life" Tour of Old Town Annapolis. This two-hour walking tour led by costumed guides will include visits to buildings and areas significant to local and Maryland history like the U.S. Naval Academy, the crypt of John Paul Jones and St. John’s College. We will be scheduling groups of approximately 10 starting at 12:30 with additional groups scheduled to depart at 1:30 p.m. if necessary.

COST: MACHE will subsidize the tour tickets for member families (members pay ½ ticket cost). Tickets for the walking tour are only $5 per student and $6 per adult (for MACHE member families) 5 yrs. old and up. Tour tickets for non-MACHE members are $10 per student and $12 per adult 5 years and up . Families can register by calling the MACHE office at (301) 607-4284. If you have any questions, call the MACHE office. Payment for those going on the walking tour ( checks made out to MACHE) should be mailed to MACHE, P.O. Box 417, Clarksburg, MD 20871.

A confirmation letter along with a map and details will be sent to each family who registers by the February 27 deadline.
